In 1985, Hombo Brewery completed construction of the Mars Shinshu Distillery in Miyata Village, Kamiina-gun, Nagano Prefecture, in search of the best environment for whisky making.
The malt whiskey distilled at the distillery, based on the ideas of Kiichiro Iwai, who designed our pot still, has been matured under the watchful eye of the magnificent nature at the foot of Komagatake in the Central Alps.
Mars Komagatake Single Cask #1855 Heavily Peated 2014. This heavily peated Mars was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2017 at the Shinshu distillery after maturing in a single American White Oak cask #1855. One of 578 bottles.
